Calls flood Salvation Army for heating oil help

March 18th, 2008 – PEI – Phones have been ringing off the hook at the Salvation Army on Prince Edward Island ever since the agency got a $200,000 government boost to help families pay for heating oil.

Since the provincial government announced the donation to the organization early last week, the Salvation Army has received hundreds of calls, said Maj. Derrick Barrow.

  2. I am trying to get a little electric heater for free for a friend in GREAT NEED in the Lindsay area.It’s cold here and she has a little heater but it doesn’t do much. She has been putting on layers to keep warm and is too proud to ask for HELP!! I can only do so much because I am on Disability. Call me if in the area, I will come and pick up.
