TORONTO, Ontario, March 4, 2008 – Salvation Army community and family service centres across Canada are helping to put some warmth into winter – especially for marginalized families, people in shelters and the homeless – thanks to a donation of more than 5,200 DuPont™ FlameResist™ Blankets.

”The Salvation Army is very grateful to DuPont for this generous donation,” said Graham Moore, Territorial Secretary for Public Relations and Development. “It has been a difficult winter and while something as simple as a blanket is often taken for granted, it can make a huge difference during these cold months for those that truly need our help.”

“DuPont is pleased to be able to donate these blankets to the Salvation Army, and particularly given the severe winter conditions this year when there is a great need,” said Lori Fleming, market development manager – DuPont Consumer Safety Business. “We know that the Salvation Army will get the blankets to people who most need them for their comfort, warmth and protection.” The DuPont™ FlameResist™ Blankets are soft, warm and hypoallergenic. They are knit with an inherently flame resistant fibre and not chemically treated.

The Salvation Army will be distributing the blankets in a number of cities across Canada, such as Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catherines, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Burnaby.
