Despite making progress in many ways, the burdens of war, disease, human trafficking and hunger still fall disproportionately on women. To mark International Women’s Day on March 8, Colonel Eleanor Shepherd, head of The Salvation Army’s women’s ministries in Canada and Bermuda, talks about the role of women in the early years of the 21st century.
