The Pendel Divisional Emergency Disaster Services Department of The Salvation Army is presently serving several communities after torrential rains and flooding have devastated the area.
The Ladore Lodge in Waymart, PA, is providing meals and temporary lodging for those who have been forced from their homes due to flooding. EDS is working with the local School District which is providing additional shelter for displaced individuals and families. For more information, contact the Ladore Lodge at 570.488.0318.
The Wilkes Barre EDS Canteen has been deployed to Waymart where flooding continues. The Wilmington, DE, EDS canteen mobile feeding unit has been deployed to Seaford, DE. The East Stroudsburg remains “on call.” All EDS canteen mobile feeding units throughout Eastern Pennsylvania /Delaware Division have now been contacted and are “on call” pending the continuation of the rain and flooding. Personnel are ready to provide food and assistance any way they can.
Torrential rain continues in the area and additional services are expected to be required. Please pray for those affected by the flooding. Updates will be forthcoming when available.
