On June 22 federal Justice Minister Vic Toews introduced a bill to raise the age of consent in Canada from 14 to 16, which has been the law since 1890! The Salvation Army supports this legislation, and the organizaiton’s spokesperson is Nancy Turley, national abuse advisor. In this special report she describes the bill’s intent and the Army’s response.
